Western Bugs

We found our beautiful Western Bugs asleep for the last time on May 31, 2009. Appropriately, the great horse that he was, he died quietly and unexpectedly out in the little pasture that he loved, saving me from the pain of seeing him suffer or from having to make decisions that would have been heart-wrenching to have to make. He was a grand horse, a treasure to own; he was my buddy, my once-in-a-lifetime horse. Always a gentleman, always kind, intelligent, and so personable that everyone who came in contact with him loved him, he spent fifteen years sharing his life with me. I will always remember the thought that went through my mind the very first time I saw Western Bugs in Bus Hudson's barn in Idaho--"this is the horse I've been looking for my whole life!"  And he truly was that horse for me........He left me with his wonderful son Flashy Bugs, and several gorgeous daughters in the broodmare band. And he gave many of you the high performance athletes that you own and ride.

Horses come and go in a persons lifetime, but Western Bugs is irreplaceable. I will miss him forever.
